Complete Connection
We’re vertically integrated, which means we oversee our products’ entire manufacturing process from farm to shelf. It means we are completely connected and engaged with where our mushrooms come from, who grows them, and how they are processed.
Sourced directly from independent farmers
We searched the globe for mushroom growers who meet the WholeSun Wellness standards for quality. When we find a farm we want to work with, we partner with them directly and exclusively.
Our mushrooms come from independent growers on small farms and not from corporate agriculture. Larger companies and farms rely on middleman suppliers who purchase bulk mushroom material and sell it to the highest bidder.
Other supplement companies will sometimes mix mushroom material to meet their production quotas. However, the company doesn’t truly know where the mushroom material came from and how it was grown.
By sourcing directly from our farmers, WholeSun Wellness can offer complete transparency and traceability for our products. You will never get that from a supply chain dependent on middlemen.
U.S. Mushroom Farms
In 2022, we launched our U.S. farms that exclusively supplies WholeSun Wellness with high quality and reliable mushroom fruiting bodies, and we plan on opening additional domestic farms in the future.
Grown as nature intended
Our organic mushroom fruiting bodies are grown on farms, and not in warehouses. Our farmers create an environment for the mushrooms to grow as nature intended. They mimic a mushroom’s natural habitat, growing it on its preferred native hardwood.
Hardwood-grown mushroom fruiting bodies contain a higher amount and greater diversity in bio-active compounds such as beta-glucans, triterpenes, and ergosterols. This growing practice is crucial to producing top quality and potent mushroom extracts.
Our mushrooms go through the entire fungal life cycle. It can take up to 12 months from seed to harvesting to produce some species.
The mushrooms are then harvested by hand at the exact moment they reach their peak potency before drying in the sun (for more vitamin D) and heading to our extraction facility.
Did you know?
Chaga mushroom contains two active compound that only occur when the mushroom is grown on its native birch log. Betulin and lupeol derive directly from birch bark. Chaga grown on another substrate does not have the same active compounds.

Certifications
Certified USDA Organic
Instead of relying on a third-party to certify our products, we went directly to the regulatory source.
Our mushroom products are certified USDA Organic through the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food (UDAF) and, by extension, the Federal Drug Administration (FDA).
- Stricter requirements than third-party certifications
- Meets the verification requirements for non-GMO and Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS) status
- Directly certifies WholeSun Wellness as a Natural Organic Program (NOP) processor, handler, manufacturer, and grower

All of our products are processed in a FDA-registered and GMP-compliant facility.
Since our products are certified organic by Kiwa BCS Öko-Garantie GmbH (Germany), ECOCERT (France), and EU-ECO-Regulation (all EU countries), customers around the world know they are getting only the best. Other companies do not have this international certification and are limited to selling their products as organic in the US.
